Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Como Retreat has been prayerfully designed to help guests draw near to God through stillness and silence in the beauty of His creation. What To Expect

What To Expect at Your Como Retreat

Once you’ve made the country drive through untouched forest to arrive at Como, you’ll be primed for an exceptional experience— a time to quiet the “white noise” of modern life, enjoy God’s brushstrokes and focus on the gift of sacred tranquility.

For the next four days, you will walk a spiritual path with ten Biblically based “stepping stones” that will lead you into a deeper, more intimate encounter with your Creator.

Upon arrival at Como, you will have time to settle into your private room and unwind. Take a moment to explore. Chances are, you’ll feel drawn to the banks of the Mississippi River, just a brief walk away from your room. Later, you’ll meet fellow retreatants at the welcome gathering and dinner.

For the next two days, you will rest in the silent flow of a monastic atmosphere. There will be times for listening and learning, then refreshment and rest. Each day, you will walk through the revelation of the spiritual stones, with plenty of time to process through contemplation, prayer, and journaling. Nature walks offer opportunities for contemplation while soaking up the natural surroundings.

Don Griffin

In the time that I have known Jesus Christ I have longed to find special places to meet with God and learn to know Him better and better. Como is one of those anointed places where I have sensed the presence of God. The atmosphere at Como, the focus on the Word of God in reverence, in the gatherings I have experienced there, is life changing.

Catherine Schoeffler

"Beginning that evening, the quiet would only be broken by daily lessons, bird calls, crunching leaves, and the low chugging hum of the barges along the river." - Mentioned in the Country Roads Article.

Julianna Doughtery

"My experinence during Como Retreat was as though I had put my life on airplane mode."
